Hello,
Pshawn, or anyone else, do you know who is casting adults for LWW?

And Merry Christmas!

>>By Candle   (Wednesday, 24 Dec 2003 20:35)

Does any1 know wether they have decided to use British or American Kids yet? Last I heard they were almost cetain they were using British kids? Any new news though?

>>By JAK   (Sunday, 28 Dec 2003 00:31)

I read that the children are already cast and are British actors. But I don't know about the other parts. Does anyone know the name of the casting director?

>>By Candle   (Sunday, 28 Dec 2003 03:21)

Pippa Hall is the children's casting director.

>>By ameliadawn   (Sunday, 28 Dec 2003 06:14)

Where did you read that they already cast the children? Last I heard was that they had't even decided whether they wanted Amercian or British Actors yet. So it would be incredibly fast if they had already cast them.

Quote: "The news is Casting Director Pippa Hall saw 52 candidates in the final round of auditions for the four child roles on 1 July 2003 in London.

Included in this number were Rebecca Edwards and Joshua Dickinson from Sudbury Upper School, Suffolk (which is in East Anglia – south-east England) who were auditioning for the roles of Susan (aged 12) and Peter (aged 13). Both children are in Year 9 at school, which means they are approximately between 13 – 14 years old.

James Younger from Uplands Middle School, Suffolk was auditioning for the role of Edmund. James is in Year 8, putting him at between 12 – 13 years old. "

I'm sorry, it does NOT say that they were CAST, but that the final audition were July 1st. Therefore, I assumed that the children's casting was over. I could be wrong, (i have been before:)). Again, I apologize.

December 24, 2003

"I've talked with Pippa Hall and she said that she is almost certain that British kids will be cast as the children, but that she will accept a letter, audio tape, and recent realistic headshot. She said to please not go to much expense because she expects that british kids will be cast anyway. If you would like to send this information to her in the uk, send me an email and I'll send you her mailing address. Also, she said she isn't allowed to accept tapes from people reading from the books, so just talk about anything you want on the tape. Got to have a good accent, though!"

I am pursuing all avenues open to me in an attempt to submit myself for a role in this movie. I am an adult. Pippa Hall is all over the place, but the most I can discover about the Adult Casting Director is that there may not be one yet? I would be so grateful for any information regarding this. Ameliadawn, how did you talk to Pippa?

Just posting in to say hi and to let Jess Stover know she's going to have a run for her money for the White Witch role... Not to mention, hopefully this series of movies makes it to Magician's Nephew, then we'll *really* get to see more of Jadis!

Incidentally, I think the writers could have a lot more fun with a 'younger' White Witch...just look at the relationship between Hook and Wendy in the recent Peter Pan movie.

Either way, I can't wait to hear more about this movie being made. Cheers!

Hey, does anyone know why Walden media has removed Grant Major and Richard Taylor from the Narnia homepage? Are they not going to use those guys anymore? I guess I could imagine Weta is insanely expensive now, after their success with LOTR. I find it interesting anyway.

I havn't heard much for a while... sorry I'm on holidays and moving house etc. So I am not in the know on the currwnt updates sorry. I am trying to get the name of the casting director for the Adults and I 'll let
you all know if I find out! I have heard that one of the guys from starwars was coming to help do special effects... either as the project head or a consultant... that's dated info though! Good luck! Leak here!!! I don't know everything :)

>>By Pshawn   (Thursday, 1 Jan 2004 05:59)

Thanks for the update!

>>By ameliadawn   (Thursday, 1 Jan 2004 08:18)

and good luck with the moving...i've done it far too often, and it bites. Happy new year!

>>By OpheliasCat   (Friday, 2 Jan 2004 10:03)

Hey all. Look, I am a major fan of C.S. Lewis' writings and would really appreciate any help in obtaining information concerning the new The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. In fact, I am hoping to get a role (and will accept pretty much any role - although several friends have all selected the same role for me when they've learned this is my latest project).

>>By narnianpromise   (Thursday, 15 Jan 2004 04:56)

Has anyone heard any updated rumors about Jessica Stover getting a reading for the witch/jadis? I'm going to check narniaweb as well....

>>By NarniaFanDan   (Friday, 16 Jan 2004 02:26)

Pshawn (and anyone else), any direction on to how I might gain some "exposure"? fairly undiscovered - but definitely talented as well as other qualities.

>>By narnianpromise   (Friday, 16 Jan 2004 05:19)

Sorry I have no contacts in the area of casting. My friend does reveiw the final cast before aproval but he isn't that fussed about it at present. He has more important things to do unfortunatly. Your best bet is to try to get in touch with someone who deals directly with casting in NZ if you want extra work. I honestly have no news I can share unfortunatly :( ... and that's no news, not that I'm not sharing :P hehe

>>By Pshawn   (Saturday, 17 Jan 2004 03:58)

Thanks for your timely response Pshawn. I think I'll follow that advice and see where it leads me. If nothing else, I'll learn more about how the industry works. Also, your response sparked my hope once again since other things I've been reading had me worried. Anyhow, I'll keep in touch and let you know my progress - as well as others who might also be interested in developments I may stumble across.

>>By narnianpromise   (Tuesday, 20 Jan 2004 03:18)

I was wondering how someone could get a contact from NZ. Do you know someone in particular that you would recommend? I have been looking all over the net to try and find someone and didn't find anything. Pshawn, you have been a great help and I am not trying to squeeze you for every drop. Thank you for all of the info about this film, I have greatly appreciated it.

>>By Puddleglum   (Tuesday, 20 Jan 2004 05:18)

Puddleglum, I understand exactly where you're coming from. It's amazing how the internet can tell you so very much or nothing at all. Anyhow, good luck as you continue your search. If I should be so fortunate to come across anything useful, I'll be sure to pass it on. Pshawn, thanks to you for all your advice and help. Should anything come of this venture of mine, I'll be sure to give you your due credit.

>>By narnianpromise   (Wednesday, 21 Jan 2004 05:01)

I was wondering if anyone had found anything yet. It seems that this film is getting around. I am beginning to hear more and more about it.

>>By Puddleglum   (Monday, 2 Feb 2004 22:14)

What have new things have you heard? I've been following it for quite a long time and have gone to very exstensive research on the director, casting director/s, auditioning, etc. And it's all been the same for EVER!!!:) It's like, everyone knows it's being made and coming soon, and who sits in the big offices, and I know that it's all the same thing that everyone else has heard and read, but I can't ever get any further. I've gone so far as to contact filming agencies and offices in New Zealand, as well as Walden Media, but no more info than what's already been posted. I'm soooo excited about it that I can hardly stand it! I can't wait to see it! I really wish there was some real new news I, or someone could share!! Well...we'll see...

>>By Candle   (Tuesday, 3 Feb 2004 02:00)

I have just been hearing that the movie is becomming "known" to the common public, and is not just a backdoor thing anymore. Candle, did people you contacted have anything new to say. I know what you mean by "real news" I have had the same fortune as you.

>>By Puddleglum   (Tuesday, 3 Feb 2004 06:50)

To answer your question, Puddleglum, Naw! No one in the big offices ever respond:) sooo...i haven't had much luck that away. All of the news places list the same info. even the news media in New Zealand don't seem to know any more than what we do. The best luck I've had is through forums and such - but you have to read between the lines mostly to figure out what's really true news and what is someone's overhead conv. from another passed from another to someone, ETC and so on!!!! You know what I mean! Or I've found some stuff on "online diaries"! That sounds funny, but you can actually pick up on some interesting facts! If I find anything new, though, I'll be sure to post it. TTYL.

>>By Candle   (Tuesday, 3 Feb 2004 17:13)

Candle and Puddleglum, you have no idea how true your words are and how frustrating the situation has become. It's as though no one is trying to keep things updated - and I'm not talking a minute-by-minute detailed report of their progress,,,but would sharing new information be so terrible, especially now that it's becoming more publicly known? (After all, we enthusiasts, who may or may not be well known performers, could promise to be the answer to those in production.) Anyway, that which I find out which is new - I'll share.

>>By narnianpromise   (Wednesday, 4 Feb 2004 04:34)

Hello Peoples, I live in NZ and am a big fan of the Narnia Books and of movies. Actually I intend (God willing) to work either in production or post production of the film. So far I know all the main Production cast but not about the acting casts excecpt that they will be using extras from NZ and several will be the same that have been used in The Lord of the Rings movies, like the stunt peoples and things. I haven't managed to find out who any of the actors are, but they will be filming most of the movie in South Island of NZ and also Auckland, they start filming mid year.

>>By Jo_3d   (Wednesday, 4 Feb 2004 04:40)

Jo_3d, I think you have been the answer to my prayers! I have been looking for someone from NZ to update us on this. I live in the United States and I was wondering if you have Walden Media's phone number or someone I could contact for the casting. It sounds like you don't have much info yet, but this is definatly a promising door for NEW news. Thank you very much!

>>By Puddleglum   (Thursday, 5 Feb 2004 01:03)

Hello! Jo_3d, it's great that you have joined this group! I think there's a bunch of us on here who will keep badgering you, HOPE you don't mind:)!!! Actually, Puddleglum, I went to Walden Media's website and found all the contact info. for them. Back to Jo_3d, you are in the best place in the world right now, according to my thinking!!! I'm in the States, and would give anything to be in NZ! I'm sure I can say for many on here that we hope to hear from you again soon! TTYL...

>>By Candle   (Thursday, 5 Feb 2004 04:00)

Jo_3d, Welcome and thanks for the news. A bit disappointing that they're thinking they'll just use LotR extras - spread the love!!! But truly, thanks for the update, it holds promise if nothing else and right now, our faith is all we have.
