I love this movie (NARNIA by Wonderworks starring Richard Dempsey and Jonathan R. Scott) but can not find any photos of it online. And does anyone know if any of the actors (Richard, Jonathan, David Thwaites or both Sophies) have done anything else?

Does anyone know anything about the new movie of the Chronicles of Narnia which is being produced with Walden Media? How about any info. on auditioning?:)

>>By Candle   (Wednesday, 22 Jan 2003 21:17)

Starlight check out the following website: http://members.tripod.co.uk/Jonathan_Gregory76/ there you should find some pics of the BBC Wonderworks series - and some information on the (then) children who starred in those series.
God bless you warmly <><†

You can check out new info on the new movie at www.walden.com. Not much about it yet but, hopefully, soon!

New Zealander Andy Adamson (Shrek and Shrek 2) is directing the Lion etc. In March he
told Kiwi talk show host Linda Clark that a country hadn't been picked as a location yet. Said he had been a fan of the books since age eight, one of the reasons he took the project on. Also that not all the books would make movies, 'because some go in different directions'. Told Clark he was well aware of the resurection symbolism in LTWTW, but (wrongly in my opinion), but that resurection was a common theme in many religions andcultures. Mentioned that the book was very sparsely written, and it was his job to turn a sparsely written yarn into an epic theme, by extending the epic themes it comprised. Still, despite some of my minor reservations the bloke sounded sincere, warm, humorous and seemed to have artistic integrity. Let's hope and pray tjhe real Lion comes through...

Does anyone know anything for sure? Is there going to be a release date? Or is this going to be another one of those rumors about a great movie that gets peoples hopes up? Give as much detailed info as you can....I hope the retain some of the stuff from the first movie...computer animation could take some of the real effect out of it...they should have the original witch outfit, that shit is scary.
TLTWTW RULES!!!!!

Hey, ya'll!

Let's talk casting. Who do you think for the kids and the white witch? What about voices for any CGI characters? I always saw the white witch as younger, not older (like 30!?) I see her as 25. I think that role could be played in a couple of ways, but the best thoughts I've heard so far have come from this chick on AOL named Jessica Mae Stover who has an online show and is an actress. She's one smart cookie! Check her out at AOL Keyword: Crush. Bear with me b/c her show is very stylized and pop culture driven, however, I know she is the one to pull of this role! Seriously, check her out and let me know what you think. I hope she gets an audition. She's also a huge fan of the Narnia series. Jess, if you happen to cruise this board, you must audition for that part! Your take on the witch will make that movie 10x better! It would be your breakout role, too!

Cheers, Narnia Girlie (Jemma)

Hello, Jemma

It is odd, and amazing, that you posted about Jessica Mae Stover on this board! I was looking for a Narnia movie board and stumbled upon this one. I completely agree with you. As a member of her audience I've gotten to know her a bit over the past months and I belive that she can definitely play this part. Let's hope that she gets an audition!

Sincerely,
JJ

l just wanted to say how excited l am about this new movie... l remember being enthralled by TLTW&TW as a kid- l even tried climbing into my mum's wardrobe hoping to find myself in a snowy forest...!! l was so gutted there was nothing there! Hey, l was a kid back then- cut me some slack!! ;o)
A part of me still wants to return to that fantasy l believed in back then and this movie will hopefully take me there. l look forward to hearing of further developments...!

According to The Z Review, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is being planned to have a summer 2004 release? That seems too soon. http://www.thezreview.co.uk/news/news837.htm

>>By Tim   (Monday, 23 Jun 2003 18:31)

By the way, also saw that summer 2004 release date on someone's personal movie website.

>>By Tim   (Monday, 23 Jun 2003 18:42)

For casting~ they have to be British actors - I cannot see (or hear) and an American accent pulling off "by gosh" or "stuck up prig" quite the same way.

And why don't they start with The Magician's Nephew??

And on that note - why aren't they converting the Space Trilogy into movies???

>>By Elesdee   (Thursday, 3 Jul 2003 00:37)

I agree with Elesdee, the Space Trilogy would make excellent movie, who can we contact.

>>By ory   (Sunday, 6 Jul 2003 06:31)

i think emma watson is not a good choice at all

>>By joey churchill   (Monday, 7 Jul 2003 07:19)

Hey! I absolutely loooooooove the Chronicles of Narnia, they are my favorite books ever! If anyone has any information on auditioning for the movie, please tell me. I recently played the part of Susan in LWW at our state's community theatre, and would love to play any part in the movie, if possible. (I can do a British accent, too, if that helps. We used to live ten minutes away from a family who had moved from England, and they taught me.) Any info on this, please send it to starfire288@hotmail.com with a subject pertaining to LWW. I would be soooo greatful!

I am friends with one of the producers. I can't say much but I am sorry you will all have to wait a while longer as it will not be finished till december 2006. things have changed I've heard a few spoilers but production won't begin for a while. lets just say if you like what was done with the lord of the rings triliogy you'll love this. I'll leave it at that and don't rely on any fan sites. I can guarentee noone will have any info for at lease 6 months as the pre production is in the early stages. casting won't be till next year!
I feel bad for you all because I can tell how much you are looking forward to it and I get to enjoy seeing it evolve :) sorry guys!

Any casting info?

>>By miks   (Saturday, 26 Jul 2003 23:37)

That is so awsome they really are redoing the LWW. The book is fantastic. But why stop there? Wouldn't it be wonderful to have all seven books up on the big screen? If not all at least part.
Pshawn, if you have any info about auditions for the future please share!

Sorry I miss quoted my friend. It's Dec 2005 I got confused with some other dates! I beleive casting will be in 2004 and I havn't been told when.
There will be 7 movies if the first goes well! and you'll see them over a short period of time. The films will be done as Lewis wrote them in chronological order!

>>By Pshawn   (Monday, 28 Jul 2003 04:26)

MMM casting would be fantastic I have been a long time fan and long time reader and viewer for Narnia and I'm so thrilled they are re making them!!!!!!!!
As for good info go to the source www.narnia.com there is info on there for a film release in 2004! yea! this is awsome news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>>By Jem   (Monday, 28 Jul 2003 10:40)

ahhh... not wanting to be rude Jem and being a fellow Aussie, I think you should know that that site hasn't been updated for months. You can expect it to be updated soon but don't hold your breath for anything too groundbreaking about the new movies.
As for rumours because of the privilaged knowledge in my little head I will only confirm them from now on I think. I'm going to quit leaking too much!
If anyone wants to put forward any "questions" I might be able ot answer them!
Later!

Jemma and JJ! -- (By the way, too funny that there are two Jems on the same small board!)

One of my friends just sent me the link to this page. He was prowlin' the web for junk about me and found this board! Thank you so much for your support. I have the coolest fans and I LOVE that I'm 'net based because I get to interact with you! I am also pleasantly surprised that you recall my obsession with Narnia and the role of the White Witch! I'm not sure about 'LWW' casting. If they are filming in another country, (probably NZ or the UK,) then they might have to cast actors from said countries for biz reasons. I also might not be the "type" they are casting. I believe that Pippa Hall and Leo Davis (London) are casting for this movie... but I may be incorrect. No matter, I'm excited that this movie is finally in preproduction.

Elesdee -- My English accent is spot on! I studied at Cambridge and travel to London whenever possible. I also continuously study English dialect. "Stuck up prig" is no trouble at all. I think I'm secretly English. However, I agree in general with your point on American actors because often poor dialect can ruin a film such as this.

Pshawn -- Awesome that you are on this board! Are you friends with someone from Walden?

Cheers!

I am friends with one of the producers. I have had related to me his vision of what will happen and what to expect and I'm excited! I have a lot of info on the film and those involved but I can't say too much because I was told some things in confidence. I just like to have the opportunity to answer questions where I can and deny rumours... and confirm some too! :)
