The movie, where do i begin? Studying the movie is difficult, as it does drag on a little- but the book is much better. P.k.'s character is a pile of crap. He as a child would of followed the trend in that time as much as possible so he wasnt rejected from society at the times. He wouldnt of really accepted the africans as he did if he followed the trend. Maria was a laughable character- they just fall in love and she seems so innocent.bs. Overall the underlying meassage was strong bout racism, but the movie was to far fetched

This movie was too sensationalistic. It gave you poignant scenes of unnecessary brutality just to grab at your emotions, so that by the end of the movie you feel like you just watched the greatest movie of all time, when in fact it delivered nothing. It plays your emotions like a violin, and does it well, but when you look past that, there's really not much movie there.

I'd have to agree with pretty much everyone here.. i'd watched the movie some time ago.. then read the book only recently and to tell you the truth the book was amazing although i didn't quite like the ending.. but i'm now reading Tandia that seems to drag on a hell of alot but i still know whether he made it or not.. I then watched the movie again during English and found it quite dissapointing.. and Marie.. well wat can i say? Is Peekay blind? I think his boxing has knocked him up a bit.. to fall in love with her 'at first sight' what a pitiful character she was.. but i do reccommend the book entirely even though i'm not much of a reader.. The movie isn't all that bad.. Marie just drives me insane

I think the movie was powerful and somewhat realistic. I haven't read the book but now I have every intention of doing so. It just amazes me as I read people's comments that we see this movie as something that hasn't occured right here in the United States. It gave you poignant scenes of brutality not just to grab at your emotions, but to show you how things really were in South Africa at the time. Its sad that even to this day people are still unable to accept the fact that such a horrible event actually occurred, and it was truly horrific.

The Power Of One was the most sadest and moving movie I had ever seen! We were studing it for english at school and basically everone was crying and screaming. P.K is such a hot character that it was a shame he fell in love with someone like Maria. And for the losers who think this movie is crap, well maybe your just plain dumb.

It's amazingly moving. I rarely get emotional about a movie but it was great. I saw it when it was on t.v. when I was 8 and it was amazing then. It was so sad and it impacted me so much and I was only 8 and didn't even understand a lot of the movie. I read the book as a summer reading assignment sophomore year in high school but by then I had totally forgotten this movie. Halfway through I thought this movie must be based on that book. I just watched it again for a history and hollywood class. I still love the movie but the book is better. They're both great in different ways. They're slightly different stories though. Marie is ugly and stupid and not good enough for P.K. (even my mom agreed), the greatest boy in the world. 7 year old P.K. is the cutest thing ever and Stephen Dorff is HOT. Remember it's a movie and not a history lesson. It gives you things to think about and you're supposed to learn the background stuff.

i jut finished the movie 4 an english assessment....u would not believe how many ppl cried, laughed, screamed etc in that movie. now that ive finished it ive released how much pain some ppl had 2 go thru. & lyndal, u do not no wat ur talking about. those things actually happened! many ppl hav died bcoz of their race, the way they talk, etc! all of u hu were dissing the movies r so negative! do u no how much work was put in2 that movie?! i had 2 d a film study on it and every angle of the camera means something. so all of u hu think u no betta, try making ur own movie and compare them. bcoz u will find out how hard it is to create such an emotional and fantastic movie. the power of one shares the negative and positive aspects of afican life to people with OPEN MINDS! 4 all of u hu r posting postitve comments, good on ya! this movie was great and deserves a lil respect!

i thought this movie was really good, it showed all the tough things people went through back then in Africa. i am in the middle of reading the book and i would have to agree with most people here the book is way better!!! the movie left soo much out, but i still loved it. And P.K. (Stephen Dorf) is sooo HOT!!!!! i wish he was still that age. I recomend this movie and the book to every one it really is amazing!!!
