Black Hawk Down was a very sad war of samolians against the wonderful americans.I can remember Smith when he died it was very very sad. Many solders died in that war.If they didn't die some of them got wonded. I saw the movie of Black Hawk Down.

This is to Sari,
There was only about 7 americans that died it wasnt that many. Right after the Black Hawk Down problem President Cliton pulled all the american forces out of Samolia....i think that it was stupid to go into Samoli beacause we didnt even finish what we went in there to do...whats the point of havenin a military if the United Staes pulls our forces out every time one of our men die. its a wast of money and time.

looking for the music soundtrack for the movie. That is some of the most haunting and beautiful music I've ever heard in the movie.

Blackhawk down was one of the best war movies of all time. People died very sad, lost their friends and felt the pain of war.
Blackhawk down tells the truth of how modern war is. More than 80 US soldiers were wounded there and 18 were killed. Blackhawk down has been one of the most recent battles founght in the 1990's. You'll have to watch Blackhawk down to know the true hell of war.

Found the musical sound track on Amazon.com. It took a little while, but I found it.

what happen that day could of been prevented. the mission was to take a half an hour but it didn't. yes it was a great loss of life for both the U.S. and the opposing forces. this mission should of been carried out under the cover of darkness not day light , the soldiers that lessened their kit should of brought what they needed like there armoured that lines their tactical vests.

Blackhawk Down was a good movie. It was based on a true story, but not all the events in the movie are true. I don't have time to debate on them. The battle that took place on those 2 days was a tough one and yes men were lost and self sacrifice was high. But there were worst cases than that. You probably don't know, but the Vietnam war was worse than that battle, evry day. I've talked to many vets and asked them about the movie Blackhawk Down, and evry single one of them told me "the vietcong made those skinnies look like girl scouts, it was nothing compared to the nam". One of those vets was my dad, who passed away 2 years ago. He didn't get the chance to see this movie.

It was a masterpiece.
The Book was great, the true event was troubling and sad, but the movie was amazing.
I loved the filming of the whole movie, every piece of scene is like a kodak moment, just not that grizzly moments..., however Ridley Scott is a great movie producer.
Reminds me of the movie saving private ryan.

that movie was crazy ass hell!!! pearl harbor and black hawk down are one of the dopest
movies i have ever seen related on war. those kind of movies would really get to me and to tell
everybody the truth its movies like those that would wanna make me join the army and kill the
fuckin saddam hussain and bomb the fuck out of both afghanistan and iraq!!!!!!!!!!
UNITED WE STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>>By unknown   (Sunday, 23 Feb 2003 20:37)

This is to who ever wrote the last message. If you like war that badly then why don't you really join the army and do your part if you wanna stop Saddam? Are you the one going to the fuckin middle east and putting your ass on the fuckin line?!?! It's the thousands of american SOLDIERS that are going to fight! And more than half of them might never see the States again and you're back here saying WE're gonna kick Saddams ass. Stop saying we! Unless you're one of the thousands of soldiers who's literally going to fight. And when they come out of Iraq bloddy and whounded they earned the right to say WE kicked Saddams ass, but the real heroes are the ones who didn't make it home.

We can thank our wonderful FORMER commander and cheat, Klinton for getting a lot of our boys killed in that hell hole. They requested ARMOR support...but were turned down by the draft doger himself. Someone the other day asked me what I thought of Klinton......I said..."Lying Son Of A Bitch," about covers it.

THE PROBLEM WITH THE "HALF HOUR MISSION" WAS WE DIDN'T GO IN THERE WITH THE RIGHT WEAPONRY. WE SHOULD HAVE HAD ABRAMS TANKS AND ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIERS. HUMVEES JUST DONT DO THE JOB. THEY WONT STOP A .22 CALIBER BULLET. HELICOPTERS ARE NICE. BUT THEY ARE VERY VULNERIBLE TO GROUND FIRE WHETHER IT BE AK47S OR ESPECIALLY THE VERY EFFECTIVE RPG OR .50 CAL. MACHINE GUN, WHICH THE SOMALIS HAD. TO REFUSE TO ALLOW OUR TROOPS TO HAVE THE PROPER EQUIP- MENT TO DO THE JOB IS HEINOUS AND UNFORGIVABLE. IT REMINDS ME OF VIETNAM WHEN WASHINGTON REFUSED TO ALLOW OUR AIR FORCE TO BOMB CERT-AIN AREAS(SAM MISSILE SITES). MEANWHILE EVERY- DAY THEY HAVE TO FLY BY THESE TO OTHER QUESTION-ABLE TARGETS. THERE IS A LESSON WE HAVE TO LEARN ABOUT WAR AND ACTIONS SUCH AS THESE AND THAT IS IF WE GO INTO A FIGHT, WE MUST GO IN WITH CONVICTION THAT WE ARE GOING TO DO EVERY THING THAT IS NECESSARY IN TERMS OF FIREPOWER AND MAN POWER TO GET THE JOB DONE WITH A MIN-IMAL LOSS OF LIFE.

I loved the movie and it made me aware of what the military men/women have to go thorugh. I love the Rangers because I think it takes courage, endurance, bravery, and skill to be able to achieve the status of Ranger. Rangers rule!!

Love them all.

great movie

>>By stever   (Saturday, 22 Mar 2003 05:12)

This is to all you "armchair generals" out there I was in Desert Storm and in Somalia during this mission and you pussies don't know a fucking thing about war. You think that just because you have an uncle or dad who was in Nam that you know everything there is to know about war. WAR IS WAR; PEOPLE DIE; FRIENDS DIE. It is not this exciting experience that the movies make it out to be but rather an experience that I would'nt wish on anybody. And to our troops in Iraq right now GIVE 'EM HELL BOYS and GOD SPEED. REMEMBER THE POW'S (YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN)

>>By somalia vet   (Tuesday, 25 Mar 2003 12:13)

I came to this site, wondering if someone had a decent idea of opinion about the events which occurred in Somalia.Instead i only read stupid and dumb people talking about like they know what happend. And it's happening again today in Irak.
So instead of talking shit save ur energy.

>>By blackdawn   (Friday, 28 Mar 2003 10:55)

Jonny Boy- It's high school, not high scholl. But other than that, good luck in the military and God bless. Hooah!
General GSP- You need to st-op using dash-es when you don-t need them. You're obviously not a REAL general or you'd have a master's in english so you wouldn't have such a heinous post. It takes away from the fact that you actually said some intelligent things.
blackdawn- "stupid and dumb people" post here, but you call it Irak? Look in the mirror for your "stupid and dumb people."

As for Blackhawk Down, well it was definitely a moving film, especially when the Delta Force snipers were willing to help out the crashed blackhawk.
That was one of the most moving parts for myself. Another thing that I truly thought was an excellent decision by Mr Scott was that none of the characters were really
"developed", as in you never learned a lot about their personal lives. If you can't understand why I think that then as it was said in the end of the movie, "You wouldn't know."

this movie am good for it shows how the evil somalians declared war on america. we had to go and get the bad president of mogadishu and free the oppressed people he had over there fighting a war they didn't want to. i thought it was sad that so many ppeople starved to death in the movie. it was sad that some of the americans died but i'm glad that mogadishu surrendered to the united states and we won the war.
