I agree - I was very young when I first saw it , the dancing the skating , Jean Kelly , Oliva Newton John - finding something wrong with this movie is damn near impossible.

I saw the Movie when it first came out. I was 7 years old, with a bad attention span, but for some reason the movie was so good that I actually sat through the whole movies, and loved it.

Being wistful for simpler times and a big ELO fan, I loved it - I've been watching this movie since I was a kid and I pop it in whenever I need a pick-me-up. - Also, if you're a cinema buff, the producers used a great many effects made popular in the 70s and 80s but are rarely used today - gel backlighting and so on - So, if you want a feelgood time trip back to the early 80's, hop aboard -

This was the first movie I ever saw in the theatre and I have watched it at least once a year since. My hubby can't stand it, but I don't blame him. I love it but admit it is terrible... still love it though. I met someone else who loved it and we had a Xanadu fondue party. So much fun!

OK, anyone in their right mind knows this is no way a master piece of a movie, BUT the sheer gaudiness and unabated tackiness make this a classic. Love it or hate it this movie is a one of a kind - luv you olivia! 2003

Yeah, yeah...we know it's not the best movie in the world if you want to be really critical...BUT the music is great and it really is a very inventive and imaginitive movie in ways that you just don't see often in other films. Mostly, it's a lot of fun and it makes you feel good to watch it---a fun throwback to musicals of the olden days. Plus, it's got Gene Kelly in it who does a great job. One of my favorite movies---I'd recommend it to anyone who can suspend their inner movie critic, loosen up and let their imagination roam a little.

I thought this movie was great when I was 7. Now that I watched it as an adult, I cringe every time the lines are spoken (especially Sonny's) but the songs and dancing are still entertaining. What I really want to know is why did Kyra wind up being human again to be with Sonny and not with Gene Kelly?? Man what was she thinking?!

I love this movie! I'm listening to "I'm Alive" right now. That's my favorite song from the movie. I was going to watch it at my friends house and thought itwould be stupid but yesterday i went to the local video store and it is on its way now! I know this one guy that when it came out since there were no VCRs He took a cassette recorder and taped it when it came on TV so he could just listen to it.

I first saw this movie back when it first came out. My cool aunt, you know, the aunt that took you to see all the movies when you were just a kid. And the reason was so your parents could produce another future Xanadu lover, HA! Anyway, I experienced this movie as a 10 year old boy. I will never forget it! Since then, I've bought every ELO, Olivia Newton John, Xanadu VHS and DVD that I could. I just can't let it go. That feeling that I get from watching, hearing, or talking about it just can't compare to any drug I've had since! And trust me, I've experienced them all! Anyway, the whole feeling about this Movie has brought much happiness to me over the years, a sort of reliving my childhood, a sort of comfort, and a high that can't compare. I hope that future generations can experience the same level of utopia(Xanadu) that I have. I keep preaching the word!!!! My perfect wife would be a Xandadu lover as well.....

Those that don't understand this movie, will never understand it. It's not a movie, but a state of mind. It's a time when things were simpler, easier if you will. The '80 s remind those of us that lived it of a time when the summers were warm and unrestricted. We remeber a time when love and friendship were more important than anything else. We remember a timeless happiness that will never die until we do.....
