I was a totaly intense movie, It forces you to think and the way comedy and tragedy is mingled makes Kusturica's comment on the Yugoslavian history a really effective one

I wouldn't agree at all. It shows pro-Serbian view of recent wars in ex-Yugoslavia, making it thus propaganda movie.
It was filmed during Serbian aggression on Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and it was financed by the state-Serbian television controlled by Milosevic at that time..so think!;)
It's such a shame that movie won Palme d' or at Cannes..
