i cant believe i am the first one to talk about this movie it took place i war torn poland during the nazi rise to power and featured a famous piano player zlipmann who was also a jew and chronicled his life through the 5 years of nazi occupation

WWII holocaust film. The movie is well paced, although, at times it is difficult to watch (the violence). A good movie that spends time with the details as the "pianist" survives the nazi occupation.

mh...for me it was really hard do watch this film. it is so full of violence and brutality. i think it's a good one, but i've seen to many of these. can't stand it anymore.

This is a great movie. I'm not surprised that it isn't popular. Most great movies are ignored nowadays.

I don't think at all that this movie is unpopular - it's just that you have to be in the right mood. I'd rather watch this film again when I'm alone than with friends or family. And what I found interesting was that you did not leave the ghetto with the jews like in all the other holocaust films. Here you could stay and for the first time I heard something about the jewish and polish guerilla fighters. That was something very interesting for me.
