It was outstanding, racism was not of this movie, whites and indians are of equal.
The story was good. I love to watch over and over again.

i just watched this movie in my american history class. it is the best movie ever! not only is the viewer given a close to accurate portrayal of the french and indian war, he or she is also treated to superb acting, especially by daniel day lewis.

Daniel Day-Lewis's best performance! Terribly romantic with great score and cinematography. It's a tear-jerker :(

The hunting scene that opens the movie...running through the forest, sighting down a musket barrel to the deer...I can't think of a better opening scene in any movie.
The music is magnificent, fitting the photography.
Contrast between the world of the Indians and European, with Hawkeye caught in the middle is well portrayed.

This movie was outstanding. i absolutly loved it. Very realistic, and overall just a great movie. I was so happy when i got it for christmas!!! Daniel Day lewis did a great job in recreating James Fenimore coopers novel.
