Star Wars

It was a good movie. It was worth the money but one thing should nave been changed. The part where Aniken and pademe are in the medow "the whole love part of the movie sucked dick". The action was good but the love plot sucked.

Attack of the Clones is without question the worst of ALL the Star War films, the story was woefully slow, the acting hammy and laboured, the plot thinner than rice paper, the only slightly redeeming feature was the cgi, some of that was good but overall this film was much overhyped dross,

The makers should hang their heads in shame......BOO HISSSSSS

For me:

The dialogue was poor. Or the acting wasn't convincing enough to pull off the dialogue. Or a combination of both.

I'm not a fan of CG. Art and movies should be made by humans with human hands and not computers. But I can understand the use of computers. I had a lot of respect for 'IV, V and VI' (New Hope - Return of Jedi) as they made all the spacecraft and planets from models or real life props.

+agree; the love aspect between Ani and Padme was unrealistic.

I'm wondering if I'm just nostalgic...

I agree with the love scene--it could have been better and done later when they were older. Too much computer animation--seemed like a cartoon. I was pretty disappointed too and I hear the next one is going to be very dark. Not going to go, I think.

oh shut up the only reason why you guys didnt' like the love scenes is because you wish you were the one there wth hayden christensen...lol star wars was a really good movie. most of you guys just can't appreciate it because you're not a star wars fan

I'm a Star Wars fan from WAY BACK!!! I LOVE IV- VI and I thought the first new one was Ok- but - and I really hate to say this- but no. 2 SUCKED!!! George Lucas was just too preoccupied with telling the story- so much so that he overlooked the characters- (they are shallow puppets with no depth) but they should have been very intersting. The love scene in the field - I mean-... What is that?

Will see no. 3 and hope for the best- I'm an optimist

In my opinion the worst part of II came directly after the field, when Anakin rode that Shaak thingy. The CGI was horrible.

For me the best was scene, when old, sick Yoda was fighting! This little green drop flying in the air... :) It was not so bad film, but I expected SOMETHING more...
PS To Guy From Another Country - weŸ se jego zdjêcie i spal czy cuœ. Peace.
PS 2. Please tell me is it correct - May The FORCE Be with You?

well...actually didn't notice it before...but yes...now you mention it the whole love thing really made the film half as bad.....and yet....don't know why i've always liked the films...the old ones and the new ones....wonder what's the matter with me...

>>By HY -   (Monday, 22 Mar 2004 12:13)

oh...somewhere i saw a huge discussion about weather padme will or won't die...lol don't quite see the meaning in this... who cares...we can't change it anyway....and well...it IS a stupid movie afterall....
ok and she'll die alright...

OK well the Sith thread doesn't seem to be up yet, so some comments on Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Again, there's too much CG. I didn't like:

1) How the technology of the "prequels" is superior to that of the "sequels" (e.g. android baddies using 4 lightsabres at once, missiles that don't exist in Episodes IV V VI, etc)
2) Spacecraft that look like Flight of the Navigator which are annoying

Besides light sabres and blasters, the weaponry and technology is just not Star Wars. It's like Lucas hired some creative dudes to help him come up with "stuff" before the deadline to realease the movies - and instead of using his own creative input or quality control to cull the poor designs of the designers, he just accepted whatever they had to submit. Either that, or Lucas invented everything - poorly.

Another bad thing was the acting. It's not better in III, than I or II. Palpatine was an exception. I liked his evil performance. Anikin only became good, after donning the Vader mask, and voice is taken over by the professionally measured James Earl Jones (thinking of old cast, C3PO and R2D2 are the 3rd and 4th best actors -- yet even R2 gets corrupted by being too powerful).

Too many limbs got cut off -- finally someone's legs got the chop this time. But it trivialises the poignancy of Empire Strikes Back, when Luke gets his arm cut off.

The last bad thing category is the similarity to real life. There's too much of it, and in a sci-fi movie you don't want that. You want escapism. Some of the craft looked like Black Hawk/Gunships; the missiles resemble that of 2005 airforce.

For some reason, IV, V and VI seemed like another place altogether. But in III we have The Republic, Democracy, Separatists (and in II - talk of dictatorship). Such political talk is boring and convoluted. However one redeeming feature is that there is no real "good" or "evil". Who is to say the Jedi or the Sith are the baddies?

Despite all that, the story was good. Pity about the acting and technology

I really think that you people don't know how to recognise a good movie when you see one. So you didn't like the romance scenes? Maybe that's because you're so shallow that you can't think that such a feeling can actually exist. I believe if it was explicit sex everybody would aprove, for that's the only thing that people wnat to see nowadays. I must say that I wasn't such a big fan, but now I am and I believe that the true fans must agree that the modern movies are excellent, specially Episode III, which can be understood by anyone who has a heart. Congratulations George Lucas! You've created a world were it is possible to dream and forget this stupid one where we live. For those who haven't seen the movie yet I say: Go and watch it! It is a unique oportunity in a lifetime.

I love the original trillogy to bits, and thought star wars could get no better - and what do you know it didn't. don't get me wrong i liked the preqal trillogy for what they were as indiviadul movies, parts sucked yes 1) Darth Maul wasn't up to scratch for me 2) the love thing was over the top i agree 3) the fight with palpetine and the jedi was lame and ham acted 4) darth vaders frankenstein entrance at the end of the movie sucked way more then anything i just mention, it just spoilt the whole movie.
