Sin City

I haven't seen this yet, but want to. The visuals look incredible, but I hate to see a movie that isn't intellectually engrossing. If you've seen this already, can you tell me if the storyline pulls you in too?

I haven't read the graphic novels it was based on so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a bit slow at first, lots of narrative throughout. After the first bit, though, I got used to it. The narration blends into the movie, like background music but you still pay attention. By the end I had really enjoyed the whole thing. I think it deserves being seen twice to really get how everything goes together.
I recommend this movie to every comic book and sci-fi fan and to everyone who enjoys something a bit different.

You definitelt have to see it twice to catch everything that went on in the movie.

This film is beautifully artistic and twisted. I saw it twice in one weekend. It is inspiring. I never read graphic novels or comic books, and I still adore this film!

This certainly offers a unique transformation from comic book to film, and one of the more successful ones at that. The colour is amazing and definately adds a whole other perspective. It also has an amazing atmosphere to it, you get the whole tagline thing - " turn the right corner in Sin City, and you can find anything ". Enjoy :)

i hear the Dvd is a bit thin when it comes to the extras no film school or even a cooking school one like in Once upon a time so take it we have to wait like 12 months and the special edition of the specail edition editon which will come out after the specail edition.

Didn't quite catch that, but I'll assume you know what you're talking about... Anyways, this movie was pretty good, it some pretty good lines, but I just didn't understand how the orange guy all of a sudden appeared in the cage... That was the only thing I didn't get...

Best line:
Kill him for me Howie, kill him good!

I thought the movie was brilliant, as were the comics. Loved it.

i didn't really like it. Sure, it's extremely artistic. but the story wasn't really impressive.

This was, in my opinion, one of the better comic book adaptations to come out of Hollywood for a long time. Regardless of whether the storyline wasn't that engrossing, you can't help but be drawn in by the central characters, especially Marv. I think every man secretly wants to be Marv. :)

OMG i have never come across a more boringer, dumb movie. The differnet storylines made no sense. It was getting no where, and on top of that i had to rewind the dame vhs 100x just to get what the hell they were talking about. I would never ever see this movie again even if someone paid me too.

I don't wanna be Marv. I wanna be Dwight.

I just saw it, it's amazing. I've been reading the comics really recently though and I got the feeling I wouldn't have understood it properly if I hadn't read them. In the 'making of' thing Robert Rodriguez said they weren't trying to turn a comic book into a film, they were trying to turn film into a comic book. Into Sin City, specifically. So there's a lot not to like if you haven't read the books. Still, I can't see how anyone could find it boring or dumb.
