I just saw this movie on TV. It touched my deep soul as I was watching. I cried when the father stopped him from making friends with the girl and when he returned to the blank basement - his straw for keeping him floating simply disappear. Somehow by watching Powder struggle in the world he does not belong to remind me my struggle. I was born in a poor peasant family in China and came to the states as a foreign student. Now I work humbly in a small company, paid low and live in a studio in a Mexican community. As I look back to the road I have been through, it is simply so hard.

I wish there are more good stories about humble human being.

Autumn,

His name is Sean Patrick Flannery.

I highly recommend two of his other films, "Boondock Saints" and "Suicide Kings," if you haven't already seen them.

P.S. I love this movie.
