No Such Thing

This was a strange movie. I admit that I rented it mainly because of the box cover.
I mean honestly, if you were a redblooded hetero-male with a taste for bizarre and over-looked movies, and you came across a movie with a young woman with a lot of clevage showing as a monster stands in the background, wouldn't your interest pique?
I read the description of the film and it sounded interesting. Plus, I am developing a crush on Sarah Polley.
The story basically follows a young woman who works for a large news channel/media conglomerate who is sent to Iceland to investigate the disappearance of a camera crew that was initially sent to there to learn about rumors of a monster living near a small village.
The woman befriends the angry monster and brings him back to the US to fufill a disturbing promise. The media quickly picks up on the story and both the lives of the monster and the woman are changed.
I have to assume that there is a good deal of symbolism in this movie, but I couldn't begin to explain any of it.
The story was unique, the acting was here and there, and the musical score was haunting. Like I said, I am developing a crush on Sarah Polley and this film is what really started it.
