The movie is good. I read the book first- big Dennis Lehane fan-
and recommend reading the book before seeing the movie. As always, the book gives so much insight into the characters' mindsets and a lot of background information that a movie can't provide.
I am usually disappointed by a movie after having read the book
first, but I wasn't in this case. The actors did a terrific job portraying the characters.

i didn't know this movie was based on a book, i just saw mystic river last night and was blown away by it. not only is it a intigid story line but the acting is completely top class.
i'd reccomend this movie to anyone who's sick of the usual hollywood processed drama's and wants to see a truly good movie. excellent.
