Malena is one my best movies which I have seen by now. I think, no one can do better than Monica Bellucci in her role. She was wonderful and I will never forget her in Malena!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Monica's portrayal of the role was exquisite. It's funny, because I just happened to stumble across the film in an Italian channel here in the Philippines, and it happened to have subtitles.

Monica portrayal, the sexy, mysterious beauty who tries to fend off all the evil around her, was extremely touching.

You can almost feel the sympathy for a woman who's only crime was to be beautiful, without willing it to be so. I think this is what made her so attractive to the men, and so spiteful to the women.

Attractive because she was beautiful, but she tried hard to play it down, to remain the loyal wife. This made her the so-called ivory tower that all men wanted.

Spiteful, because women couldn't find anything to hate her for but the fact, that she was beautiful and was lusted after their husbands. They could have reason to hate her if she openly flaunted her assets, which she did not. This is what pissed them off.

All in all, it was a scenic, sad, wonderfully-made movie.
