It came out a long time ago in asia. It was good. Very good. Better than Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon if that's anything to go by

Great film. I watch it over and over. A good film to compare with it is Chen Kaiges "The Emperor and the Assassin" with Gong Li. It tells a similar story, but with a completely different take on the whole thing.

Hero is standing testament to Zhang Yimou's skill at cinematography, his vivid layering of colour in nature form surreal backdrops for the action scenes that made crouching tiger a household name. A visual stimulant.
Dissapointing plot with dialogue that seems "lost in translation".
Watch out for "House of Flying Daggers". Another Zhang Yimou production, guaranteed to satiate your appetite for all things asian.

Wow. Great movie, the analogous of colors amazed me as each scene passed. As a matter of fact, I think I need to buy the movie.

It's a brilliant film. I wanna see it again. The best bit is when Broken Sword and his girlfriend storm the king's palace and there are all those green curtains. Yeah.

allex, it's pretty much a fantasy film, it isn't meant to be realistic.

I agree with the person further up too: it's way better than Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
