This is the greatest of all anime films. the animation is so beautiful and well formed i mean just look at the backrounds like during the chase scene near the begining where they show u the city it's amazing. plus the feel of this movie is amazing seeing through the eyes of those that we have created and those that will most likely be our destruction in the future.

this is an incredible film! when it comes to anime this is the movie of which all others are judged!

This is IMO is the best intellectual anime movie out aside from "Patlabor:2" wich is more Political. But this will definatley stand up to most movies of today. With the exception of "Ghost In The Shell: Innocence".

Totally agreeing with you guys above, this is the my favourite and only anime series i watch, totally in depth i love it. I'd say the series is much better than the first movie though Innocence it out of this world

I have only seen Ghost In The Shell: Innocence (on DVD from my public library) and I want more!! I look forward to finding the first one. Loved the concept, the graphics, the Philosophical discussions. If you want to explore the boundaries of human vs machine embodiments of consciousness, try reading The Mind's I: Fantasies and Reflections on Self and Soul by Douglas Hofstadter & Daniel C. Dennett.
