I loved Enemy at the Gate. No I don't think the German sniper was the father of the Russian sniper. What makes people think that and where is the evidence in the movie? The movie worlds historical intelligencia at its best.

Your Pretty Dumb your probably thinking of the scene where the germans think that zietsief is dead and the german general asks konig for his dogtag and he tell the general to take the war merit cross he says it was his son's. His son was a german soldier who died early in the battle, vassili zietsief is NOT the son of major- erwin konig you geek!

How did the sniper get into a penalty-battalion? The scenes where officers shoot the escapeing soldiers, and charging without a gun, those sort of things happened only in the penalty-battalions.
