No muscles, not a perfect face, no popular hype -& toughtalk. No, being húman, incredibly human. Thát's Tom Hanks in all of his movies, and also in this one. The story is about being lost on a desert island. Infact it shows the state of being of mankind without the luxuries that are so normal to us, like matches, food, a dentist, someone to talk with/to, or even a reason to
survive. It also shows the tremendous satisfaction after having the trouble and the giving of such an effort to achieve the once so ordinary things, like fire.
His manager-way-of-thinking got reduced to a longing for primal needs, primal instincts.
,,I don't know how and why i survived, I just had to stay alive, i had to keep on breathing..."
Lots of psychology. It also lights up some 'roads' fromout the questions on sociology and at a certain point it helps to understand the why's of human evolution. Superb movie !

i've seen this movie and finally picked up little pieces, like the wings on the package are the same on the womans truck. The package delivered, I believe was to her husband in Russia. Now, there are papers he rips up on the island, it reads dissolution of marriage agreement. Could this have to do with the same woman with the wings on her truck? (there also are wings in her yard, as an art piece).Great movie, especially held by one guy..Hanks.
