you conspiracy theorist's above (b4 u and after u) obviously have no idea what you are talking about. John Nash was a paranoid skitsofrenic(not spelled correctly) and there's nothing more to it. he never actually worked for the government it was all in his mind

Prof. Nash is a personal friend of mine. I spent two years living (literally) and working in Fine Hall and came to know the man and one of his son's (John Charles, also a mathemagician) fairly well. He himself has told me the movie is "not accurate", to wuote him directly. Furthermore, If you all would take the time to read the books now coming out about him and his life and work, you will soo discover that MUCH important information was indeed left out of the film! As some of you (the critical thinkers among you) it is not always what you say that can be deceptive, misleading, or flat out wrong, but it is often times what is NOT SAID (ie intentionally left out) which can turn out to be the most damaging to the general public. May I suggest to all of you who have the time and interest to pursue more truthful and accurate avenues of historical research (OTHER THAN HOLLYWEIRD!) to go and find (and READ!) a book called "The making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes, for starters. Then I highly recommend that you go and find the (ONLY) biography on John von Neumann by Norman Macrae (New York NY: Pantheon 1992). In this fascinating and well researched book, you will find - among other things - an interesting quote about Prof. von Neumann being well accustomed "to the thumping, of helicopter blades on his lawn." And THAT was no hallucination! And for all of you in the know, you will recall that Prof. Nash's work was indeed a CONTINUATION of the pioneering work of Prof John vn Neumann (see http://www.rit.edu/~drk4633/vonNeumann/ ). The latter was also involved in the infamous "Manhattan Project", and worked heavily on ballistics and explosives for the military as well. So, when one sees what Prof. vonNeumann's life was like, juxtaposed against Hollyweird's version of Prof. Nash's life, the striking similarities will immediately become apparent to all. May I also recommend the SECOND book/biography by Sylvia Nassar on Prof. Nash which she was asked to co-author with Emeritus Prof. Harold Khun of Princeton (an aquaintance of mine) which is truly an insiders look at the man Prof. Nash! This - in my humble opinion - is what should have been written LONG ago! A biography by a mathematical colleague who truly knows the many better than any journalist. But alas, life is not always so rational and orderly to allow for such common sensical outcomes. Sometimes we must wait for the media to jump in and ferret out the facts and put it into pallatable prose for general consumption. be that as it may, Miss Nassars book is a worthy contribution to the public's understanding of such extraordinary - and often tormented - minds of genius' like Prof Nash. Bravo, to her and to Russell Crowe for brilliant acting. I shall reserve judgement on Ron Howard and on the script writers who took many liberties and perhaps more artistic liscense than should have been allowed by the subject himself. Although we should also keep n mind that the Professor was indeed present during some of the filming, and he was indeed consulted - from what I am told - for accuracy etc. Conversely, one should also keep in mind that much of what is filmed often winds up on the editing room floor! For the sake of brevity of course! Never the the truth get in the way of a good story! Right? NOT! ----m666 e-mail: daVinci666@hotmail.com (please put Re: John Nash "A Beautiful Mind" in the subject header box! Thanks. Best regards and happy READING!

Whats up with all of you guys mispelling so many things, words that arent even hard.I mean , what would Prof. Nash say if he read your comments? Yea, so anyway this was a GREAT movie. And regardless of the facts, i enjoyed it, and i hope you do to...if you havent already seen it. Well...have fun guys.

My father suffers from schizophrenia and a lot of people i know said they had no idea what it was like before watching the film - a lot of people don't understand mental illness, so i thought it was good the way it gave an insight into being schizophrenic.
