Discussion: The Jar

The films coming from Iran have been remarkable and beautiful. In The Jar, the only water jar in the schoolyard is cracked, and the film centers around the teacher's effort to mend it. What is remarkable is that the filmmaker used such a large cast of characters, most of them children and non-actors, and kept the pacing beautifully. The photography is exquisite, showing off the beautiful Iranian landscape to the utmost. I highly recommend this film for anyone.
