It is a brilliant sequel.
But, after reading some text on the Donnie Darko discussion. I find how the movie dables with time travel rather lazily.
Example: The chip salvaged from the T100 in the first movie was from the future. From it Dyson was instrumental in developing skynet.
Now parallel universe theory I can handle but is this what the creators are suggesting. It's a bit of a mind fuck. A lazy one at that.
The third movie I'm afraid doesn't had nothing to the story.

This movie is one hell of a sequel, something you don't see often in hollywood. The only flaws or weak points in the movie are the holes in the story, including the lack of information on time travel that leaves us puzzled. Although this movie is almost perfect, the third addition(T3 Rise of the Machines) almost destroys the value of this film. Edward Furlong goes above and beyond portraying John Conner as an adolescent, and I think the biggest downfall in T3 is the decision to use Nick Stahl as a replacement.
