Swing Kids

Forum

Its a cool movie. One should go more into the spirit of the movie and enjoy the music and the emotions...without actually delving into the political context/message etc.

wow....... it showed me a side of the story i never really thought about before....... and allowed me to see how a lot of them really were brainwashed...... Thomas was such a swing kid.... totally devoted to the music and the dancing and his fellow swing boys..... then when peter joined the HJ, and he did too, the nazi propaganda totally took over his mind...... i thought it was a very interesting perspective on how hitler managed to rule germany so effectively.....

Swing Kids showed me the true meaning and feeling of what happened during that era. It also shows the emotions and struggles that families went through to live. I recommend this movie to anyone whom wants to learn more about the Hollowcost.

This was deffenently a good movie we watched it in class and done a project on it
it is a very interesting movie involving the Nazi's
The swing music is SH*T
Specialy coming from me who likes Slipknot and ill Nino and mudvayne and Heavy metal bands like that.

But the movie was good
the bit at the end was emotional when he gets taken away to the consentration camp, you should have seen the girls in my class. lol some were crieing, but i wasnt far of it lol
anyway i give the movie
9 outta 10

I believe that the movie is effective in its message because it does not overtly shove the meaning of the movie down the viewers throat. I show the film in my classes not to teach the "Big Picture"of Hitler and the Holocaust, but to demonstrate the "little things" that occured. The daily life, the terror created by the Nazi's, the viewpoint of the everyday German. Many ask, How could the Holocaust happen? How did the "everyday" German person let it happen? This movie helps to answer these questions. Many people did disagree with the Nazi's....many just in their homes because they feared retribution....many openly and paid the consequences. The swing music is just a convenient package to sell the message. It helps keep the interest in the movie.

This movie was truly moving, it had an excellent message of who your friends were and who you are. It makes me think about my everyday life and who I am around on a constant basis. This movie was genuine and brilliant. On a scale of 1 - 10 i give it a 15. Robert Sean Leonard who plays Peter really made a great effort at becoming Peter with his skill. Peep it. Good stuff.

this movie opened my eyes to the fact that alot of german people opposed the nazi regime. my dad was 17 in italy, when this all happened. he mentioned that alot of german soldiers didn't want to fight. they would go to his house, place their rifles against the wall, eat spaghetti, and play cards. the part of the movie that got to me was when the young guy had to deliver boxes to the households. he opens one up and realizes that it contained the ashes of anyone who was against the regime.....along with a wedding band. i recommened this move highly......and the swing music was great and added to the film.....hence ...swing kids....
