| Discussion: Starshiptroopers Starshiptroopers is the best action movie I have ever seen. All you people who like explosions, action, and aliens. Well this the movie should see. We went to their galaxy and invaded them. We got tattoos that said "kill everything." They sent the meteor in response to our colinization of their space. Watch it with the directors commentary. VerHoven makes it clear that this was intended as political satire/commentary. >>By Spazzmania Colonization of their space... but not invasion. We didn't attack them until they attacked us. As far as political satire/commentary, I thought the best use of that was the 50's style media coverage and news programming. I loved where the bug "ate" the reporter on-camera, then got the cameraman because he kept rolling instead of running. And that's a very common phenomenon with camera people. They quite often focus on what they see in through the lens and don't think about it's affect on them. Having been a military photographer I understand that quite well.
