shrek is my favioute cartoon film its great i watch it every night i no all the words to it i like the songs that get played in it to all i have to say is i love it and it 100%

shrek should be rated pg13 because in the song that robin hood sings there is a part of the song that he says "and i love to get laid" but it is pretty funny i liked it

Actually, Robin hood, doesn't say he likes to get laid, he likes to get "paid". Check the captions, u'll see i'm right. But you are correct that Shrek should be rated pg 13 or higher. There is so much sexual refrances within the movie, but happily the majority of it is too advanced for kids to understand and will go un-noticed. For example when shrek says to donkey when seeing lord Farguaads castle. "Do you think maybe hes compinsating for something?" Suggesting that farquaad has a small penis. As well, in another scene Lord farquaad is in his room viewing through the mirror his bride to be Princess Fiona he pulls the covers up over his genital area, suggesting he just got an erection and is attempting to hide it. Also, there were several very graphic scenes down the cleavage of the heroine, Fiona. There were reference to forbidden love between a donkey and a dragon. A dragon kisses an ogre's bottom (by mistake) and a few play on words such as when Shrek says, "I have to save my ass" meaning donkey. I was also surprized to see some bodily-based humor (belching, farting, urinating) and related references in a PG movie. The violence in shrek consists of several instances of action/adventure oriented fighting, a dragon chasing several characters, a Gingerbread Man being "tortured" and some slapstick-style material. Some of those and other scenes that involved may be unsettling, suspenseful or even scary for some younger kids, but that all depends on their age, level of maturity and tolerance for such material. Don't get me wrong, i loved this movie and would recomend it anyone. I just believe the rating on this movie should have been higher. But over all, this is a great movie. 5 Stars ( out of five )
