| Discussion: Rosemary'S Baby This has been bugging me for 20 years! HAIL SATAN !!!" man what a freaky creepy movie >>By Helmet This is one of my favourite movies. I would say the most evil character in the film isn't any of the satanists, but Rosemary's husband, Guy. He betrays his wife for success. He's so nonchalant about it. "We can always have other babies." His cruelty is shown towards the end when he stands by as Dr. Sapirstein blames Rosemary for the alleged miscarriage. The scene I find hardest to watch is the one where Rosemary thinks she's safe in the office of Dr. Hill played by Charles Grodin only to find out that he's contacted Guy and Dr. Sapirstein. The scene where she calls Dr. Hill from the phone booth is also good. That impatient cigar-chomping businessman is a nice touch. I think one of the strengths of the movie is how ordinary the satanists seem. Ruth Gordon is wonderful as usual. I love the way she uses her finger to rub the spot where Rosemary has dropped the knife. Here's some trivia. Maurice Evans who plays Hutch, the family friend killed by black magic, played Dr. Zaius in Planet of the Apes. And of course, the movie was filmed in the Dakota apartments, where John Lennon used to live and where he was shot. >>By Mikey_Canuck You are not logged in.
