Well, The blue only comes up when the tape is stopped. However, If you leave a tape running depending on the tape, static WILL come up.

I got a phone call with the same noises that are in Ringu when you get called. It was about 2 days ago on April 2nd. I AM TERRIFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is out in the US. You can rent it on DVD on blockbuster. It's the inspiration for the movie THE RING.

i never seen the real version of the ring, but i have the ring in english. i mean the american version, and what is this all talking about the real version is a lot scarier. i watched the preveiw of the real version in japanese, and i think it is a lot scarier. well anyways. it was nice to hear that the people liked the japanese version a lot more.

Wow, that was a good movie, horrifying, but awesome. I always am scared by the most bizarre things. Instead of being scared of Sadako emerging from the TV (as most people, including my sister were), I was scared by the bizarre part of the "death video" with theperson standing by the sea, pointing to nothing (the part with the screeching "Frolic in brine, goblins be thine" thingy). I'm sure you all think I'm crazy, but in my own words...meh. =/

ok ok ok ... ive only seen 'the ring' (the american remake) and heres some questions i have ...
1) who made the type? what are its origins?
2) why didnt samara kill the reporter chick because she had a copy? whats the deal with that?? what difference does having a copy make?
someone explain it to me? it left too many things undone!

Jay the person who made it is samara when the kids put in the tape she was in the well right above the VCR so she used her mind to have it recorded by the kids cuz of of them wanting to watch the fooze ball game.;)

i watched the trilogy and well it wasn't so scary as it leads to one movie to the other... the fact that i watched all three i can't seem to answers some questions.... like for instance:
1) dating back... how long had it been since everything happened? i mean are vhs or any type or video recording available during that time?
2) did sadako really have anothere sister...a twin one?
3) how will things or rather everything ends... i mean when i watched ringu 0 it left me hanging...
4) during ringu and ringu 2 it showed the viewerd that it was the mother samara who threw in her daughter into the well... but in ringu 0 it was the doctor who claimed to be the father of sadako.. which one is true because im getting confused already...
5) should i be expecting for another prequel or sequel of this movie?
please let me know... actually i have more... but for now just this..

I have seen both ringu 1-2-0 and the american version
however i learened that there is another japanese movie named rasen
and some of my friend readed ringu: loop and it is very confusing because it talk about virtal reality and the fact that ringu 1 happen in the virtual reality(like in the matrix) and that sadako is kinda a computer virus
I hear also that ringu 2 and 0 is are paralele episode in the ringu saga
someone can help me to find out the truth?
the orinal books are ringu rasen and the loop
and when the movie rasen was relased it sucked and its why they modified they story by making ringu 2 and 0
is it real?????

Answering the above questions, the way people die after viewing the tape is that probably their hearts stop or they just die of fright.
Also, Rachel didn't die because she copied the tape. That's the only way to escape death after viewing it. If you listen carefully, you hear Rachel say "Samara just wanted to be heard." I think that by making a copy of the videotape, you are "Hearing" Samara. But I don't know if this applies the same to Ringu. I've seen it, and that movie just creeps me out!

Um, the reason that Samara didn't kill the reporter chick or her son because they copied the tape, was because Samara wanted to be heard and making more tapes would help Samara get heard more, because more people could watch the movie. I think that's it? I haven't seen Ringu yet... is it dubbed? or just subtitled?

Ringu is pretty different than THE RING. One reason why I say this is because Sadako was around 19 when she was killed and Samara was around 11 or twelve when she was killed. That's strange. Hmm.

Why is Ringu called, well... RINGU if there are no rings or circles in that movie at all? Iis it called Ringu ( which means RING in Japaneses ) because of the phone ringing? Is it talking about the circular rings or the phone rings?

The ring is a symbol(well lots of)
First - the well: when you look at the tape you see the ring. That ring is the hole of the well
second - The eye(is a circle) and in the movie the curse(or virus) are transmited optically and if you watched both japanese and american version you can notice thats the sadako(samara) eye that kill. She goes out the tv and her hair move then the person see her eye
third - The way that the virus work is a ring and no one cant escape it. To survive you must copy it and show it, the person you ve show it must copy it and show it.. it is a vicious circle
fourth - the phone ring...
fith - for those who readed the novel or watched rasen the a cell has a ring shape

Well i searched hours on the net to find ringus movie and i would like to know if i have everything
The ring( the american version )
Ringu (the original japanese version)
rasen (the sequel based on the second novel)
ringu 2 (an alternetive sequel because rasen actually suck)
ringu 0 ( the prequel i dont know if it is based on the novels)
the ring virus( korean remake of ringu.. i just found it ill watch it soon)
i didnt readed the novel but there is 4

The loop( the didnt make a movie about this one because rasen sucked too much well this one is worst than rasen)

few words about the "real serie" As i said after ringu there is 2 alternate sequel. And it is sad but the real sequel(based on the novels) rasen sucks. I readed a critism on the net who said something that can describe why it sucks... Sadako is back and she wants sex. Well this movie isnt about sex but in few scene you see sadako(with her not undead look) licking the face of a man. And in rasen the curse is considered like a virus(it doesnt suck) but movie looks more like the game parasite eve if you played. the story is about dr Andou who lost is son long time and he want to die... He just learned that his old friend takayama and her son died( well the copy and show it to someone didnt worked it just made the virus muted). So he will try to find what happened. he found the video. During the 7 day he makes love with the dr takayama assistant. ANd she became pregnant. Few day after the sex act she have her child... A perfect clone of herself. Her daughter kill her to take her place(because she grew up in few days) and she is sadako. Dr andou finaly found out that and "sadako" make him an offer. She can make revive her son if he gave her his son dna. And during the movie someone(i dont remerber who ^_^) made a novel about the video. And everyone who read it get the curse and all women that are pregnant will have a "sadako"... The dr andou betrayed the humankind to have his son back The movie was a faillure and they decided to make the an alternative sequel ringu 2. What about the loop, i didnt readed it but it is worst than rasen. In rasen they make the story like parasite eve that very suck. In the loop novel they decided that ringu 1 and rasen story was in virtual reality. Yes imagine there is a fake world like the matrix and ringu and rasen story was in that fake world. And all the ring thing is a computer virus. Sad.. everyone that was infected in that virtual reality come in the real world with the virus. Well just watch ringu ringu 2 and ringu 0. The books and the movie rasen is for freaks like me

that's interesting. so are you saying that in RASEN ( which means SPIRAL in japanese, i think ) Sadako Yamamura comes back to life? And who ever reads that one novel about the video tape gets impregnated with Sadako? Man, that is one messed up story. but it sounds cool. i jut got the novel RING and i'm gonna start reading it. I can't wait untill the rest of Koji Suzuki's books come out. I'm especially excited to read RING o.
