Discussion: Quest For Fire

In my opinion quest vfor fire was a pretty decent movie. yet it was more humorous than informative to tell the truth.
I mean come on , the neanderthal just grabbed the woman and did what he please with her from the day they met!

I agree there was some humour in the film, but I don't agree with the coupling thing. That looked pretty realistic to me. Mating was survival and possession, so it might have been more or less like that. What struck me as typical film humour is the scene with the three hunters stuck up in the tree (and one falling down) or the culture clash between the different tribes.
Every emotion is portrayed rawer than we show it now, with less inhibition. So why would sex have been so much more subtle? Biologically it's just an urge.

I love this film, though.
Did you know Anneaud also directed The Name of the Rose? One of the prehistoric hunter actors actually shows up again as the hunckback.
