| Discussion: Pearl Harbor Where is pearl harbor?¿? >>By LoLo HORRIBLE MOVIE! why do they always seem to ruin these contemporaray movies with a shallow love triangle. It was even done in Enemy at the Gates. Its as if they are following some concrete formula, to lure woman to these war movies too, they have to suck them in with sap. Well i say, lets see a War movie that doesnt have any love story in it and is completely realistic without unbelievable heros. Historical accuracy can be entertaining too, atleast for inteligent people. Another thing i hated about this movie was the fact that the movie didnt end after japans attack. It was as if some sick and twisted sense of patriotism couldnt end a movie with a defeat, and just had to include doolittle's revenge bobing of Tokyo. Pathetic. Ben A.as tight, he had me all into the movie, but that's all right I'ma shake 'dat hater off! i hated that lady that WAS going w/ Ben. I was mad when she got pregnanent by his best friend. I hated every bit of her. i had my heart out to Ben, he played a strong character. i would've been mad like wo! i probably would've punched her or somethin'. He really had me into the movie. I felt what he felt most of the time. I'ma holla at ya'll lata'. Even if you don't like a patriotic film, you shouldn't knock it publicly. Still, like Bianca said, there's a reason you have the freedom to voice your opinion. Okay, so the movie was sappy, go watch something else. And what American wants to see thier country get its ass kicked? Hello, there's a reason we sat through the first 2 hours of the movie.... I think it was a great film because it informed an entire generation about an event that is quickly being forgotten by our country. You want humility? Catch one of Frank Capra's films. You want reality? Watch a documentary. Of course the truth is embelished a little in this movie, but you can't deny that the men who fought and died as a result of Pearl Harbor were heroes. It's like Forrest Gump...Of course one man didn't do all of the things that he did, but they were all accomplished by someone. A movie has to be taken in context. How else would you depict all the qualities that Danny and Raif display? Add ten more protagonists? That's a great idea! I'm sure everyone would follow the story really well. I just can't see the intellegence you claim to have if you can't accept a movie for what it is. It's entertainment. Pearl Harbor is many things: sad, funny, accurate(as far as Hollywood goes), happy, tragic, etc. But it is not a "HORRIBLE MOVIE". Go rent The Red Badge of Courage or The Bridge Over the River Quai and stop bitchin'.
