has anybody seen the 2006 version of omen? Its brilliant i thought... ive never had a film make me jump like that for a start. i watched the originals and id say it was good in comparison. To top it off someone actually had a baby boy on the 06/06/06 and they called him damien. lol

I thought the new version was slow, and then it got slower. There were two good death scenes (Awesome decapitation) but otherwise save your money. There were a few good scares, but they come in quick cuts. This is a cheap trick to produce scares and shows very little creation of actuall suspense.

>>By Spazzmania

ye agree with that they were quick cuts but they scare me more than being held in suspense... just because most films do that now and you come to expect somethings going to happen.

Yea the new version has some jumpy parts but for the most part it was laughable, actually in the cinema there were kids sitting in front of me laughing! I dont think the child they used to play Damien was very good, I thought Julia Stiles was so bland. not half as good as the original.

ye the kid wasnt really fitted for the part i dont think... i thought he was rather cute to be honest.. lol it was laughable but i dont think i can name that many "horror" films that arnt these days. i think they are all funny in some parts.

Why does Hollywood love to re-make classics?

I thought the original was good enough. So Im still considering watching the new version. Hopefully it doesnt discourage me from being a fan. Loved the book as well.

Interesting fact: The new version premiered here in South Africa on the 6the of June 2006. 666. Get it? A bit of a cliche I guess, but I thought it was fitting!

I Just dont get it!!! I havent seen the originals, which probably would have been wise, but atm im confused. I think i missed a lot at the start when they were speaking in italian or watever it was! Im in switzerland, so i saw it in English, with German and French subtitles, but they didnt have english subtitles for the bits that werent in English, im hoping that it explains a bit more, cos atm i dont totally get it. Well I get the general sorta thing, but wat im really asking is, wat the fuk is with the nanny?? Has she got some sort of control over the kid, or wat?? Can neone explain wat the hell she dus in the film....???? She just confused the fuk out of me. And why did the priest dude have the 666 symbol aswell? And where did the photogropher come into it, he was in there the whole time, i just didnt get where he fitted into the whole prophecy thing....
So if anybody knows wher i can get or has a detailed explanation, id love to hear it!!

at the beginning they were reading from the bible (jewish one i think from what i gathered) and about a philosopher nostrodamus. nostrodamus is the one who predicted the bombings in america that happened and he predicted them a long time before. he also predicted that the devil would return to earth on 6/6/06.... then they went through the bible stuff and it explained all these things that the bible had predicted that had come true... it was something like "when the first angel blew his trumpet this happened" and then it showed what had happened like killer earth quake and tidal waves and stuff. and the only one of them that hadnt happened yet was the son of the devil coming back to earth the apocalypse and all that.... all it was was telling people that these predictions had been made by the bible and by nostrodamus and they had been right and that both of them said the devil was coming to earth.

But the Nanny and the photographer, wats the deal with those 2???!!

Id only watch the new version if you want to find out how to turn a genuine horror film into a kind of Da Vinci Code (spit) romp. Watch for the obvious dummy of the priest when he gets spiked. A true arse number.
