I love that shot of Nosferatu (Klaus Kinski) from behind, fleeing across the town square (The real-life Delft) to seek the refuge of his coffin of earth before the dawn comes.
Even his gait is unique!

Eh Jiffo! Aye, mate. Nosferatu is a classic. Kinski was great. The stairs scene is my fave, that elongated shadow. Haha! Wonderful!!

I'm thinkin' of the Max Shreck version of Nosferatu with the shadow on the stairs!! I'm gonna 'ave to dig out the Kinski version and watch it. I think I have conflicting memories of both films and am getting confused. Either that or I'm just gettin' old :)

"Herzog's answer to the famous scene where Nosferatu arrives at the staircase, is to have Nosferatu in a tunnel in bluish tones then an apparent immobility on Nosferatu's part that's much more dangerous"
