| Discussion: Mystic River one of the best movies I have seen this year, make sure this is on your list of "must sees" >>By stevemitch The movie is good. I read the book first- big Dennis Lehane fan- and recommend reading the book before seeing the movie. As always, the book gives so much insight into the characters' mindsets and a lot of background information that a movie can't provide. I am usually disappointed by a movie after having read the book first, but I wasn't in this case.
