i went to see this movie last night with a few friends. . .and i have to say it was even better than i had anticipated. . .it was gorgeous. . .and very moving. . .

i think that people all over the world know ernesto 'che' guevara as a guerilla leader and a revolutionary theorist. . .but not many know much about the man himself. . .

if you have any interest in learning more about 'che' this film is a must see. . .

plus gael garcia bernal is sooooo good. . .in everything he does. . .

Was that final scene a bit overdone? Though excellently portrayed I feel there was a hint of idolisation at the end there... I wonder if the memoirs talk about it in the same way...

Perhaps someone can tell me whether or not this film is a sell out to the man??
I always resent his face being used as advertising, and sprawled across t-shirts that teenages buy, having not a clue who he is. Is this just another phase in the Lets Make Money Out Of His Heroic Death?

I was really looking forward to this movie and wasn't dissappointed. I read a book (Chasing Che) based on the Motorcycle Diaries sometime back and I think the movie did an excellent job depicting the two. The book was interesting in the sense that the author traveled much the same route and spoke with people who had interacted with the original journey-men. Good book, forgot the authors name but should still be around somewher.

As to the marketing of Che...between being idolized and mass markets, or ignored and forgotten, I'd have to chose idolization. If one of those kids takes the time to figure out who he is and what he stood for, the worlds a better place I think.

i didn't leave this movie thinking that it was in any way dispespectful or that it was just a way to cash in on che guevara's fame. . .

honestly i got the impression that his very close and personal friend just wanted to share with the world some of the things he remembered about the man. . .

the motorcycle diaries was very good. . .and gives one an idea of the changes that ernesto went through to ultimately go down the path he did. . .

The movie was very sweet and touching, one of my favorites indeed, even though Che was portrayed as some kind of fairy-tale wonder man which was somewhat disturbing. I do admire the character's qualities and the general plot of the film. South America looks beautiful and Gustavo Santaolalla did great on the movie score. A wonderful film, though fairly one sided.

I see most of you are 30 and under. You have an advantage of not being brain washed as I was against Che. I'm grateful for this movie because it widened my scope and woke me up to do my own research and re educate myself..
Talk about one sided..That was the History (His Story) that I was fed growing up in the 50's and 60's..So glad I've lived long enough for other sides of the stories to be told. The truth is somewhere in the middle if we are encouraged to look for it.
I'm looking forward to reading "Chasing Che" along with as many of Che's own books as I can find. Thank You.

It is one of my favourite films. I watched it 5 times. Anyhow the main hero is the MAN! I think he is an ideal of a man! While watching i was ashamed of myself that i am not like him!
