what did the drawings at the movie end mean?
>>By matt
I guess it meant a form of release for the both of them. Halle looks over to the gravestones(at the end). Hank lost his wife and his son and gave up his job at the prison. He opened his own gas station. I know that was a sudden change in his character. But I completely relate to him. I'm suddenly starting fresh in my life as well. I won't go off the main subject. I guess when she saw the gravestones, she finally understood why what happened happened. He gave it all up to free himself, I guess. To free himself from what he used to be and the life he wanted to live so that he could have a future with this woman.

how does one describe this film? it definitely isn't what i'd call a date film, even though there is a love story. it also isn't a movie to take the family to, yet family does play a vital role in the story. Monster's Ball is basically a drama about a man named Hank (Billy Bob Thorton) who quits his job as a corrections officer, after a personal tradegy. a twist of fate and a common personal loss, brings him together with Leticia (Halle Berry). the thing is, is that Hank's last assignment, while working in prison, was to oversee the execution of Leticia's husband (played by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs), although she has no knowledge of this. the truth about Hank's past and his racist father (Peter Boyle) make the budding relationship between him and the down-on-her-luck waitress very unusual. what makes the movie so uneasy is the feeling of dread and tension throughout the film. plus as hot as Miss Berry is the couple of explicit "love" scenes between her and Thorton, made me feel uncomfortable watching in a crowded theater. while on the topic of Halle, she delivers a surprisingly powerful performance here. she definitely surprised me. the rest of the cast did well, yet the plot just seemed a tad bit improbable. i guess if you're looking for a tense and slow flick and the chance for an almost pornographic scene with Halle Berry, you may want to check this one out. i give it a 3.
