Well, in the first place, are you really sure the movie was about Joan Crawford? I always thought it was about the late Katherine Hepburn and her daughter, the late Audrey Hepburn.
And second of all, it may have bean about the life of Candice Bergen.

People seem to misundersand the term "based on a true story". They seem to think it means "this is a true story". I think a better way to describe a movie would be "based on a story".
The historical accuracy of a movie will ovary from movie to movie, such as the case of Tombstone and Wyatt Earp, or the many Dracula movies.

I am going to see this movie tonight on Greek TV. I've read the book, so it will be interesting to see the film.
Re spelling. Come on, it's your national language, of course you should spell it properly. Do you think that the French/Gerrmans/Italians etc., spell their words wrongly? NO is the answer. It's the poor American educational system which allows this - no correction of spellings. Yes, I was educated in America, so I know!

Your wrong Greg it is a true story it even made the list of E channel list 101 most shocking moments, it was a book first then they made it into a movie about that bitch Joan Crawford who abused her adopted daughter so im glad her daughter wrote the book making it public and showed everyone that Joan was bitch who always put up a front in front of the public.
