I thought Mommy Dearest was disturbing. I believe not everybody deserves to be a mother. Not even Joan Crawford.

Loved the movie. I always serve my meat very rare, because the doctor says it is good to do so. I like limestone salad, wearing shoulder pads, having anchovy eyebrows and calling all women by the name of Christina, "Tina darling". Coffee Tina? The wire hanger scene and the choking scene were beautifully done. Helga, I am not mad at you, I am mad at the dirt.
Perino's is my restaurant. I am Hollywood Royalty.

I beleive that Joan Crawford was seriously memtally disturbed. She was a very evil women and appeared to me to love no one but herself. Her children where a mere publicity stunt. It appears that the only thing she ever really loved was money.

I think joan Crawford was a vary talited women. But she must have had a vary unhappy childhood. It tares me up inside to think someone could thret her children like that. She never loved her chidren, Just the money.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. Faye Dunaway who played Joan Crawford deserve an Oscar or something just for her,"Because I'm Damn mad!" line. The dialogue is awesome and the acting is over the top. 4 stars.

I was wondering if someone could tell me the name of the actress who played Joan Crawford's teenage daughter in Mommy Dearest?

>>By K.D.   (Saturday, 29 Mar 2003 05:33)

saw the movie when about 12( 31 now)
exactly was i was going through (and nobody did anything about it, esp. the neighbours who MUST have HEARD something - people are such assholes most of the time)
more or less managed to make it to adulthood (though completely flunked college )
for more info, people who act like that (abusing parents, spouses, or moral-harassers at the workplace) are narcissic perverts (in french "perversion narcissic")
if you can't care for others, please don't have pets or kids

This movie really touched me, i had a child hood very much like "cindys". My mother was very hurtfull with things she said and did to me. She would also hit me. I was able to relate to the movie and it in some way made me feel better.

Mommy Dearest was a very harsh movie to watch. The movie was very good however, but to see what a small child had to go through just to be loved. It is bad enough the children had already been unwanted children by there biological parents. Then they have to deal with a FOOL yes a FOOL like Joan Crawford. She was crazy, She may have been a great actress and seem warm and loving to her fans and even loyal. But she mistreated her kids in which they didn't deserve it. We are humans and we all have our faults just like Joan Crawford however this woman clearly needed prayer. God had already bless her with children, famous acting career and whatever her needs desired.. But, as we all know money can't buy you happiness and that woman wasn't happy within herself. So if you can't make yourself happy how are you going to make someone happy. However, Christina her daughter put that on a Screen to be seen by the world. Anyways, I give props to Faye Dunaway because she played Joan Crawfords part to a Tee..
