The italien job is one of the best films to come out of that era, and i only hope that mark walberg and co. do a good job on the remake

Can anyone tell the name of the US actor, who was suggested to replace Michael Caine in the 1969 Italian job? I have heard it was Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Gene Hackman or Steve McQueen. Please help we are in a contest and I need to know what actor it was. Many thanks,

Well I saw the Walhberg version, it's OK, but perhaps tries a bit too hard to be cool for its own good (especially that English guy). Charlize Theron looks good, but the ease in which she opens safes seems a bit unplausible considering modern technology. Seth Green is a bit annoying consistently referring to himself as the "real Napster." Norton does a pretty good job as bad guy, though he seemed a bit wussy and nervous -- maybe his character was meant to be that way.

Not good to compare movies but Oceans Eleven was better than this. Some good parts though, like the precise paint bomb, and how they capture the armoured vehicle.

Yeah I'd love to marry Jason Stathom as Rob in the movie! Oh my god was he hot! Big, muscular, and a real kick-ass guy. just my type!
Also, loved the ending with the big chase scene at the end, but then again, doesn't everyone?
