His feirce yet soft , bratty yet fun nature has left me breathless and wanting more. I only wish he would notice a simple mortal like myself standing here alone waiting for him. But he tends to go for the super brainy ones, or gorgeous ones. I mean LOOK AT LOUIS AND CLAUDIA hello, i think he likes beautifull ladies with a matching peronality. I thought it was amazing. Did you know that Johnny Depp was asked to play Lestat and turned it down? Can you imagine him as Lestat? That is the only reason I can think of that Cruise shouldn't have been Lestat. But I think he did an amazing job as well so I am not at all dissapointed. And I would like to say that I knew Kirsten Dunst before "Bring It On" and I'm damn proud of it. If only she had stuck to vampires. But she's doin some decent stuff again...very little but some. And no one can beat Brad Pitt. He did an amazing job as well. The one thing that dissapoints me now (after seeing Queen of the Damned) is that they didn't have the technology to cry tears. Crowley fan? Don't flame me too hard, guys, but the movie doen't do anything for me. Liked the book. Movie was too in love with its own look, tried for a kind of lush operatic style like Dracula with Gary Oldman would later try. My main problem: Tom Cruise. Lousy actor, terrible villain. Brad is always great, if he isn't forced to just be pretty. Dunst was surprisingly good. I'm a huge fan of vampire movies. Ones I feel, in my personal idiosyncratic opinion, are far better than IWTV: Habit; The Addiction; The Hunger; Nadia; Near Dark; Ultraviolet (miniseries). >>By Arcana13 thank you Arcana13 although i no longer go by therion >>By Vavin Lestat de Lioncourt...so, so gorgeous. I have spent many hours helpless in the glow of the computer screen, dreaming of him. GAA! Tom Cruise in general is just totally gorgeous. If you haven't seen it I suggest you do. It's one of the most believable vampire movies I have ever seen. I am a horror flick chick so I've seen a lot of them. Lestat is awesome, as is Loui. But I really admire Claudia, she's very bold and sticks up for herself, she just wants to grow up and not be like a human(well not human) doll. It's a very interesting movie with an even more interesting list of cast members including Kirstin Dunst(Claudia), Brad Pitt(Loui), and Tom Cruise(Lestat). Cool. I love this film and I haven't seen it for ages and ages. I read the book recently and now I'm reading The Vampire Lestat, and they're fantastic. But so is this film, and it really annoys me when people go 'ooh that film was rubbish cos it left stuff out from the book'. I think Cruise was perfect in this film.
