Discussion: Honey And Ashes

I often wonder how women in arabic countries cope with the terrible sexism, and Honey and Ashes handles this issue with brutal realism. There are several women in this film, each trying to come to terms with the life she wants and the life handed to her in Tunisia. The movie is complex, since each woman is working with a different issue. But Nadia Fares orchestrated the script smoothly, and the Tunisian landscape is beautifully filmed.
