High Fidelity

Forum

It's a great movie. Has asshole references like none other. It is complex. But it still gives into its mainstream self at the end leaving the sophisticated movie watcher vaguely dissatisfied. Go with your girlfriend.

I saw this movie for the first time Saturday night and i thought it was so good. John Cusack is great but Jack Black completely steals the show! I identified a lot with this film because my love life seems so complex yet simple at the moment (that doesn't really make sense does it?) And i think the movie really captured the roller coaster type of emotions you can experience in relationships.

I cant believe more people havn't written in to this discussion! High Fidelity has to be one of my all time top 5 movies! (if u saw the movie you'll see the hidden humour in there)
John Cusack is brilliant , in fact every single actor in this movie plays their parts perfectly it's like they were all made for the roles. The script is top notch and to top it off the soundtrack to the movie is Kick-ass!

Is the track he plays by those two skater teens real. If it is, it is one of the most angst ridden tunes I've heard, and beckons to a time that never was but think existed

If the track is real, who is the group that sang it and is it available in London

I was very impressed by this film. It's not often that book adptations work this well. AS the book is so obviously English, and rooted in a particular type of English attitude I really didn't believe that it would relocate well to the States. But if anyone was going to do it then John Cusack was the one. And the ending was pretty much faithful to the book so you can hardly blame the filmmakers for that.

And it was a great film for introduciing me to Jack Black. I'd seen him in Mars Attacks, but it wasn't a big role, and now I'm a big fan of him in Tenacious D,

An excellent movie. great soundtrack and jack black is at his best as an ass! The downside is that there is a critical part of the book that didn't make it into the movie.....the potential to purchase the perfect vinyl collection for nothing...revenge is sweet!

Love John Cusak - pulls of this character wonderfully

That scene you're referring to (purchasing the perfect vinyl collection for nothing) looks like it was filmed (with Beverly D'Angelo), but didn't make it into the final cut. It's on the DVD's deleted scenes, though. Very funny.
