A good film to compare with it is Chen Kaiges "The Emperor and the Assassin" with Gong Li. It tells a similar story, but with a completely different take on the whole thing. >>By popol Hero is standing testament to Zhang Yimou's skill at cinematography, his vivid layering of colour in nature form surreal backdrops for the action scenes that made crouching tiger a household name. A visual stimulant. Dissapointing plot with dialogue that seems "lost in translation". Watch out for "House of Flying Daggers". The best bit is when Broken Sword and his girlfriend storm the king's palace and there are all those green curtains. Yeah. allex, it's pretty much a fantasy film, it isn't meant to be realistic.
