as one of the HUGEST fans of Empire Records, I just wanna give out props to ya'll for being wicked into this flick. I totally thought I was the only one who dug it! It sucks that it didn't do so hot here in Canada and they never did a sequel. Still a great show though hey? I know i'll never get bored with it!

I just wanted to know the title and artist who sings the song that plays while Corey and AJ are up on the roof at the end and Corey admits she loves him as well.

Thanks

Hey guys! It's great to know that there are still people with taste out there. I just saw this movie for the first time about one month ago (May 2003) and it is now one of my favorites. It rocks!! Thanks for all your help with the song titles and artists. Somebody should list the songs not on the soundtrack since so many of us want to know, but are still rookies. Rock on!!!!!:)

dood this movie is the shit and all of you are almost as cool as the movie for being as much of a die-hard fan as i am!! for those of you who say there should have been a sequel-i strongly disagree. this movie should be left as is-a sequel would ruin it. it would be like how theyre making sequels to all the disney movies-it ruins them! (not that i watch disney movies anymore.. just an analogy... 8-D haha watever dood!) but newayz yeah so i have WinMX and not Kazaa and im havin loads of trouble finding alot of these songs soo anyone wanna help me out and send them to me my email is cnm625@attbi.com thanks mwuah ill love you forever if you help me outtt!!!!!!!!!!

>>By Jet   (Sunday, 13 Jul 2003 23:48)

Hey guys... it's so nice to see that there are so many Empire Records fans out there!!

Now, I'm trying to get all the songs that weren't on the official soundtrack and make my own cd with them. But I'm having trouble finding a few of them. The ones I still need are:

- Dark and Brooding (Noah Stone)
- I Don't Know Why (Sacrilicious)
- Real (Real)
- Candy (Full Tilt Gonzo)
- Hardlight (Peg Boy)
- Backdown Blues (Loose Diamonds)
- Plowed (Sponge) - can't find one without ticks
- Surround You (Billy White Trio)
- Vinyl Advice (Dead Hot Workshop)
- Say No More, Mon Amour (Maxwell Caulfield) - can't find the full length version
- Sorry (Sybil Vane)
- Infinity (Mouth Music)

If one of you have one (or some - or preferably ALL) of these, please email me!! (doll_parts@yahoo.com) SUBJECT LINE: EMPIRE SONGS

Thanks!

Is the film version of "shugarhigh" available on a soundtrack anywhere? I bought the soundtrack, but it only has Coyote Shivers singing and the part where Renee Zellweger sings isn't included. Anyone know if different versions of the song were released on different soundtracks?

>>By Kory   (Monday, 14 Jul 2003 19:46)

hey waht is the song where lucas lip sincs and the manager guy plays the drums
i think it might be by AC/DC

I really like this movie and Mark (Ethan Embry) is way hot, I though it would have been cool if they had made a sequal to this movie...or atleast had a DVD with special features.

Well as a great person once said:"Damn the man"

Empire records is the coolest movie. Ever since I saw it I wanted to own a music store.Seriously when I am 16 I am going to try to get a job at a music store. Empire Records is an ass kick'n movie Coyote Shivers (Beko u know Deb's man) is sooooooooooo hot in that movie. There should be a sequal. It is the best movie ever. After watching the movie I think Damn I miss the 90's. It also has the best ass kik'n music ever.

>>By Nicole   (Thursday, 24 Jul 2003 02:40)

I've watched the movie like a million times but I still can't figure out which song it is that is playing when Mark gets the orange m&m ...."nothin left to talk about this time it's over now ...."
Please tell me someone knows who it's by and the name of the song.I hated the fact that it wasn't on the damn CD.
you can email me at wiseguy_punker420@hotmail.com

Hey! Wow! I never knew that were so many people out there that liked Empire Records as much as I did. The first time I saw this movie was the summer of 99. And for a long time now, It has been my favorite movie. I also have a question and I doubt anyone will be able to answer it. I've seen it asked many times on the page. What is the song "Nothing left to sing about this time It's over now The word is out it hit the polls....." It is my favorite song in the movie but I can't ever find it!!! Oh yeah and for people who were saying that there should be a sequel...It wouldn't work!! Because the whole point of the story was for them to save the store and for Cory to relize her love for AJ which all happen as you all know. If you need a an Empire Records "fix" go buy the Empire Records "remix special fan edition" DVD. It's got a bunch of special features and deleted scenes. Well I suppose I have said enough for now. But fear not I will be back! Keep watchin the movie!!!

>>By understanding   (Monday, 15 Sep 2003 04:58)

i cant believe there are actually people out there that hold this movie so high.
try watching something complex with a bit ofg meaning to it like Donnie Darko.
empire records provokes no intelligen thought at all, has the most basic of plots and has some of the most cheesy lines and acting i have ever seen.

>>By ant   (Sunday, 12 Oct 2003 09:16)

and i think its sad that there are people who complain about other peoples likings when you came to their part of the website- and also that you couldnt even spell your arse through a lousy insult- apparently Donnie Darko didnt do much for your intelligen*

sincerely

Damn, I think that Empire Records is the best film I have ever seen. The night I first watched it is a night I will remember forever! I can't understand why it didn't do well in the cinemas, whats wrong with the world? "This is the day" by "The the" was the song playing when Corey and A.J. were on the roof at the end. Whenever I play that song I think of how wonderful this movie really is. I am pleased that there is lots of support out there for Empire Records. By the way "ant" I think its time you took your medication because you are deluded. PS. anyone know where it was filmed?

>>By timhall15504   (Friday, 7 Nov 2003 00:33)

I think it might have been filmed in california, if im not mistaken, I took notice to a car's liscense plate, and im pretty sure it said California on it. :-)

>>By Pippin   (Tuesday, 30 Dec 2003 22:31)

The movie is called ""Empire" Records" meaning that they are in the "Empire" state (Duh! Get a clue) The only license plate that is clearly readable is a New York "Liberty" plate (as evidenced by the image of the statue of liberty in the middle of it). They re-released it in a special fan edition. In one of the deleted scenes you can see a Connecticut plate on Lucas' bike (As it's getting run over by a tow truck). The song "Real" by the band of the same name is on the album "Anyone" by the band of the same name (The guy who wrote it is in that band). I do not know how close that version is (yet) but you can buy the album from Amazon for about 8 cents (Plus shipping).

HELP ME! HELP ME! HELP ME! HELP ME!

I was checking the credits on IMDB and discovered a song not listed in the "Soundtrack" listing. The song is titled "Standard Day". I did some research on the composser and did find the song on the album "Supercoat" by the band Solid Frog. Does anyone know if this tune made it into the movie. I also read a review of the movie where the critic states that they are in New Jersey but does not offer any evidence to support that statement. I still maintain that the whole thing takes place in New York.

>>By Spazzmania   (Wednesday, 7 Jan 2004 20:34)

Hm well the movie could be set in NY and filmed in New Jersey? oh well...

I LOVE EMPIRE RECORDS. yup yup. Love Debra's character.
I just have a little question, about 26 minutes into the movie (on dvd anyway) There's a song that plays in the background as Joe says 'welcome to music town..'. I think it's just during the changeover from chapter 8 to chapter 9. Does anyone know what it's called?

Cheers
