"Empire Records" is a dandy movie; I just saw it for the first time (1/2/03). I am dying to know who played the opening song (not on sound track album), which only lasts a few bars, starts with a crisp (what sounds like) twelve-string guitar lick, then "Mao-Mao" for a while, then a line ending in "...never gonna be that way again."
If no one can tell me who is playing that song...then I suppose I'll just have to jump off a bridge.
Someone, please save me from this awful fate.

That song at the start of the movie is by a band called The Dirt Clods, so says the end credits, but can I find anything about them? Can I hell! If somebody knows where I can get their stuff please give me a shout.
One truly cool film, not exactly deep but just plain fun!

The song at the beginning of the film IS not by the Dirt Clods. The Dirt Clods DO have a song on the movie, but the opening "mao mao" one is not it. I don't know who it's by.

hey i just thought the movie kicked ass, i would kill to work in a record shop like them but instead i am stuck working in crappy video ezy with gay owners, not literaly gay but idiotic freakaziods instead. They were allowed to have fun

Lucas... what is the song that plays when Corey is geting lunch ready for Rex Manning. Liv (Corey) turns on the radio and one of the first lines of the song is " not another drive in movie" .....I think. Pleas tell me the title if you know. I have serched for the song with no luck.

the "seems i never get enough of me" song is called SEEMS by QUEEN SARAH SATURDAY. there's a list of a ton of the songs on the movie that weren't on the soundtrack on amazon.com. when you look up the soundtrack-the list is down with the reviews and whatnot.

I really love this movie, and almost no one I know (I live in South Africa) has heard of it! Very sad indeed... Also, that very first song (You know, when Mark gets the orange M'nM so his choice is played?) Anyway, I would LOVE to know the name of that song!
