Discussion: Danger Diabolik

This masterpiece is the most underrated movies of all time .A classic of the psychadelic sixties, every picture masterfully composed with a perfect blend of rich colors, dark lights and aesthetic harmony. The campy mood of the story underlines the comic book adaptation, John Phillip Law is a great cast for the role being tall and lanky with the classical Diabolik intense glare and the dramatic poses before action. One of my favorite scenes has him laughing diabolically before flipping into one of his numerous Jaguars. Truly a gem no other movie can compare to it , except maybe Barbarella. Once again Maestro Ennio`s soundtrack perfectly amplifies the moods of the action. And for once i find a movie adaptation more interesting than what it`s trying to adapt.Only one regret Mario Bava never shot a sequel.

I'm glad that not many people know about this movie! It's one of my favourite cult gems in all the world; mystifiying, flawed, ultra-stylish; and many indefinable things that most people will never even think about feeling when watching a movie!

With a remake looming on the horizon, I fear my beloved orphaned Diabolik will be adopted by too many...
