Batman Begins

Forum

I went to see this last week, it's excellent.
A little slow at the start, building up the story, and a decided "hmm" with Liam Neeson as the the wise warrior (bit too close to Star Wars). But once it got going, it didn't stop, and what a surprise to see Gary Oldman as the good-guy Sgt (who eventually becomes Commissioner) Gordon. I thought Scarecrow was really twisted, the effects of the gas made him look scary (I'm sure the maggots were CGI - at least I hope so). Of course Christian Bale is sexy anyway, but the black Batsuit made him much sexier than any of the other actors who've worn it.

I'll definitely be adding it to my dvd collection when it gets that far.

lol .....................who would want to watch some guy run around in spandex and a cape ?

>>By An Evil Girl   (Wednesday, 6 Jul 2005 23:54)

It isn't spandex you silly little flit. watch the movie before you give lower our IQ by another point with your senseless drivel.

Batman begins was by far the best batman movie to date. I don't care about faux-goths who think it's cool to love Tim Burton. I won't deny that he made excellent batman movies but he went over the top especially when it came to Gotham city.

The way the movie was presented to us was alot better I think. Billionaire wants to make something of himself, meets some Tibetian dudes and gets cool moves, finds a dead-end gadget facility in his company, heck the most unbelievable thing in the movie is the Subway system and the suspended rails!
Really enjoyable action flic.

touchy !

i loved the movie. i'm stoaked to here it may be the beginning of a new re-vamped series. i like how he tried to make things a little more realistic (as far as super heroes stories go)

"Hey Bruce why do we fall down? so we can learn to puck ourselves back up again"

The mottos and quotes in this film are just brilliant also da bit about when kelly homes says its not what we look like that defines who we are but what we do that defines who we are

Katie holmes was the only bad part man. I'm glad they're getting a new chicka fer the new one.

>>By Lime House   (Sunday, 10 Jul 2005 05:05)

why do you say she was a "bad part"?

>>By kurn-ell   (Wednesday, 13 Jul 2005 23:50)

I agree with Lime House: Katie Holmes was a bad choice. In fact I believe that the kiss scene was not necessary. It's a cliche that all movies must end with the good guy kissing some girl and "Batman begins" is a movie where that cliche wasn't necessary. As for the rest of the film I think it was perfect, especially the soundtrack.

i completely agree with lime house. . .even though i loved the first two batman movies directed by burton. . .batman begins far surpasses either of them! it wasn't outlandish, garish, or overdone. . .it was perfect!

christian bale was just incredible. . .every time i see him in another movie i just end up loving him more. . .he's just an excellent actor! ra's al ghul was always my favorite villian and liam neeson did a fantastic job! i was also happy to see gary oldman playing gordon. . .he always seems to portray villians. . .it must have been nice to have a break!

my only disappointed came in the fact that the scarecrow ended up with so little screen time! cillian murphy did a great job. . .he was the perfect evil asshole as crane. . .and made the scarecrow into an actual formidable and terrifying foe. . .unlike the pussy i always believed him to be!

i would be incredibly happy to see this beginning spawn an entirely new series. . .but honestly. . .could there ever be a better joker than jack nicholson??? could anyone portray the penguin as well as danny devito???? i'm skeptical. . .so i guess we'll have to wait and see!

It *is* cool to love Tim Burton, he's brilliant.

I grew up with the first Batman film but yeah... sentimental attachments aside, this one is the best film I think.

gary oldman i didn't even recognise him!

cillian murphy? the guy from 28 days later? i definitely didn't recognise him!

a very good movie, indeed. :) i hate the joel schumacher affected batmans. i love the Tim Burton ones (overall the first one) (is one of those films of your infancy, that you see many many times). and now cames Christopher Nolan.... : i just have one word : "wow!"

Pd.- Lime House... is very difficult to iceland people to be kind and respect? or just for you? you are not more intelligent using insults... you are unmanerly... more idiot...

Batman Begins is getting rid of the camp paedophile image of batman that Adam West left us with..... it's about freakin time!

I guess this is the best Batman ever. Great cast, great story. I am a Batman fan and was glad to see the story of how it began. Chris Bale is one of the best actors of the new generation, I watched The Machinist after watching Batman and was very surprised on how good he is. It took me a long time to find out it was the same actor. And back to Batman, I hope we have a sequel with the same level
