In the original release ,Kurtz's compound seemed to be bombed or exploded after Willard left with lance. And all other video and dvd releases do not have this.What gives???

Coppola had this elaborite set and instead of dismantling it, they blew it up. He removed this because many thought the air strike had been called, though it was not. The end of the movie is realy Willard taking the place of Kurtz as the tribal leader ( this is forshadowed by the books seen in Kurtz's room, all of them have this theme.)
