I'm afraid I detest this film. It celebrates nastiness by presenting it as somehow amusing - example character with speech impediment ( oh yes very funny ) is tortured and then made to watch his beloved fish being killed in order to make him talk ( how hilarious ! ) . An old lady has her dog squashed by a falling object ( ho-ho! ) . And then to cap it all this miserable film doesn't even have the courage of its convictions by letting the put-upon fish lover take his revenge on his persecutor.

I was very pleased to find out recently that I am not the only person to have this reaction. Beam me up Scotty.

yes this movie mocks at micheals speech impediment, the fish eating klein, the dog squishing....ect. it was done in such a silly, stupid way, i can't see how someone could take it so serious. how about when klein was run over by the roller truck and he was flattened out like a cartoon character. the whole movie was cartoonish, so lighten up. just as in something about mary. any complainta on that one? it made fun of the handicap, retarded people, skin disorders, an abused dog, a guy who relapses...yet it was a funny move..i have to check if anyone complained on that one. also, i didn't find the masterbation part funny, yet it got screams from my friends...to each his own.

ya it was hilerious its fun to make jokes at handicaps and as long as its done in an indirectly and obviously joking way theres nothing wrong about it.

plus to not make fun of someone just because they're handicapped. . .would be treating handicapped people differently. . .and that's the last thing they want. . .

it's fun to make fun of everyone. . .

that's why it's called. . .'making fun'. . .

you just have to have a good sense of humor about things. . .

I don't thijnk there's anything wrong with my sense of humour - I just found it an extremely unfunny and thoroughly nasty film as opposed to Something About Mary which wasn't in the the least bit gloating and didn't ask you to sympathise with a sadist and by extensiion approve of what he did. On a related trivia note my ex-lawyer was resonsible for one of the jokes in the film ( one of the few that was actually funny - only joking :-) )

ohhh please, in Something about Mary...you're going to tell me that just because someone isn't a sadist...it's o.k. to mock at all they did in that movie. In Wanda..just becuse Klein was a sadist it's not funny. As mentioned before.....it was done in a stupid, cartoonish way....all too unreal. Thats what made it funny....lighten up...
